20 Bodies Found After The Great Fire Of The South Korea Hwaseong Battery Factory

JAKARTA - About 20 bodies were found after a fire at a battery factory in South Korea

Yonhap news agency reported the fire broke out at around 10.30 local time, Monday, June 24, at the lithium battery factory in Hwaseong, south of the capital Seoul, according to the interior ministry.

Firefighters previously struggled to carry out rescue operations. The fire can then be controlled.

Firefighter Kim Jin-young told the media reported by CNA, initially calling one person dead and one person seriously burned.

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol issued emergency instructions to authorities, asking them to "mobilize all available personnel and equipment to focus on searching and rescuing people," the presidential office said in a statement.

Suk Yeol also warned authorities that they should "guarantee the safety of firefighters given the rapid spread of fire".
