Tobacco Plants In Temanggung Reach Nine Thousand Hectares
TEMANGGUNG - Tobacco plants in Temanggung Regency, Central Java, in the planting season until May 2024 have reached around nine thousand hectares.
"But not all farmers are planting, and until now there are still many farmers in the Mount Sumbing area who have just planted," said Head of the Temanggung Regency Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Security Service (DKPP) Joko Budi Nuryanto in Temanggung, Saturday.
He said that in Temanggung Regency, tobacco plants had been planted in the areas of Mount Prahu and Mount Sindoro.
"Antara lain di Kecamatan Tretep, Wonoboyo, Ngadirejo, Parakan, dan Kledung," katanya. Kini di lahan persawahan sedang melaksanakan penanaman tembakau, termasuk di Kawasan Gunung Sumbing sampai akhir Juni 2024.

He estimates that the area of tobacco plants planted by farmers by the end of this year's planting is around 13-14 thousand hectares.
In the 2024 tobacco planting season, the Temanggung Regency DKPP during this year's tobacco planting period provides free assistance for local superior tobacco seeds of 100-120 kilograms, especially the types of kemloko 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and kemloko 6.
