Large Cars Get Tax Free, Mitsubishi Is Ready To Profit From Sales Of The Pajero And Xpander
JAKARTA - PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) has responded positively to the government's plan to expand the relaxation of the Sales Tax on Luxury Goods (PPnBM) by 0 percent for four-wheeled vehicles with large cubic engines of up to 2,500 cc.
The Department Head of PR and CSR Development Division of MMKSI, Aditya Wardani, revealed that the scheme has the opportunity to boost sales of Mitsubishi car products which are quite affected by the pandemic situation.
"Hopefully the government policy through tax relaxation can increase our sales", he said when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, March 16.
Aditya added that the 0 percent PPnBM rule that has been in effect on Mitsubishi Xpander products is considered to have greatly affected sales figures, especially in the past two weeks since the enactment of last March 1.
"If the calculation starts from the beginning of March, the sales are quite good, especially considering the figures based on the dealer", he said.
However, Aditya admitted that his party would conduct a more in-depth study related to the plan to eliminate new car taxes for large engine class cars. This is intended to maintain the company's business performance following the incentives provided by the government.
"Since this is not yet in the form of a regulation, we don't think we can comment further. What is clear is that the relaxation for the 1,500 cc car has a positive contribution to the sales figures, and we will definitely review the new relaxation plan as well”, he explained.
Mitsubishi itself has a large-engined product, the sport utility vehicle (SUV), with the Pajero trademark. Apart from Pajero, another manufacturer that is projected to enjoy this tax incentive plan is Toyota through its two products, namely Fortuner and Innova.
Separately, MMKSI Marketing Director Irwan Kuncoro said that his party had found an increase in the number of orders after the incentive was released, especially two products that received PPnBM incentives, namely Xpander and Xpander Cross.
"The number of SPK in the first week of March 2021 has increased quite significantly for Xpander, when compared to the same period in February 2021", he said as quoted from the website of the Ministry of Industry last week.
