After The Talk At The Kumsusan Palace, President Putin Driver Kim Jong-un Riding The Aurus Sedan

JAKARTA - President Vladimir Putin invited North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to try out a Russian-made Aurus car, after the two leaders held talks on Wednesday.

President Putin Putin and Leader Kim held an expanded meeting, followed by one-on-one talks. The two also signed a new comprehensive strategic partnership agreement

"At the end of their conversation at the Kumsusan Palace, the two heads of state left the building together. President Putin sat behind the wheel, while Leader Kim sat in the passenger seat next to him," TASS reported, as quoted June 19.

"On the two-path road that crosses the park, the two leaders of the country traveled several kilometers at a fairly high speed. After that, they got out of the car and walked through the garden grounds filled with green plants and rose bushes," the report continued.

Aurus is a Russian executive car brand. The Russian president used it, including during overseas visits. The car they drive does not have a traditional Russian flag of three colors, but has a Korean number plate.

Leader Kim now has at least two such cars. Kim Jong-un received the first car after his trip to the Vostochny Cosmodrome last year. President Putin brought his second car as a gift on his visit this time.

"They have exchanged gifts," Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said.

"We give Aurus. Yes, this is the second, not the third (which we gave to Leader Kim), the second, for sure," Ushakov said, saying the prize also included "laksamana service and a set of tea drinking devices."

Regarding what President Putin received from Leader Kim, Ushakov noted as a "very good gift" but did not reveal what was actually given.
