Four SOEs Entered Forbes Global 2000, Erick Thohir: Proof That SOEs Can Go Worldwide

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir revealed that four companies with red plates from Indonesia were listed on Forbes Global 2000 in 2024.

Erick has named Forbes Global 2000 as a list of 2,000 public companies with the largest sales, profits, assets and market value from around the world issued by Forbes magazine.

"Alhamdulillah, four state-owned companies, namely BRI, Bank Mandiri, Telkom Indonesia and BNI, have successfully entered Forbes Global 2000 in 2024," Erick wrote as quoted on his official Instagram account @erickthohir, Wednesday, June 19.

Erick said, with the inclusion of the four SOEs on the Forbes Global 2000 list in 2024, it shows that state-owned companies from Indonesia are now increasingly recognized by the international community.

"This is an international recognition that proves that SOEs can become global companies," he said.

In detail, BRI is ranked 308th in Forbes 2000 in 2024.

In fact, Forbes' version of BRI beat several global companies such as Starbucks in 319, Repsol in 332, Renault in 340, Uber in 346, Vodafone in 349, and HP in 362.

Then, Mandiri was ranked 373th in Forbes 2000. Then, Telkom Indonesia was ranked 912 and BNI was ranked 944.

For your information, the net profit recorded by the four SOEs in 2023, namely BRI amounting to IDR 60.4 trillion, Mandiri IDR 55.1 trillion, Telkom Indonesia IDR 24.5 trillion, and BNI IDR 20.9 trillion.
