The Ministry Of PUPR Completes The Development Of Gelora Beach Security In Sumbawa Worth IDR 17.5 Billion
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has completed the construction of coastal safety infrastructure at Gelora Beach, Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
The construction of coastal safety is carried out by the Nusa Tenggara I River Basin Center (BWS) of the Directorate General of Water Resources of the Ministry of PUPR in two locations, namely Gelora Beach and Menini River.
For beach safety, a 181 meter long concrete survey was built and two 30 meters long jetty buildings were built.
"As for the work of the Menini River, we carry out the concept of flood control with a cliff strengthening of 152 meters each and normalization activities along 500 meters," said Head of SNVT Implementing the Southeast Nusa I BWS Water Source Network Andi Sulfikar in his official statement, Wednesday, June 19.
The safety of Gelora Beach and Menini River was carried out from August 2023 to December 2023 with a budget of IDR 17.5 billion carried out by contractor PT Ibnu Munsyir Dwi Guna with supervision consultant PT Geodynamic Consultant KSO CV KMC.
"Work in the Menini River aims to protect residents' areas and community plantations from flooding that occur every year," he said.
Meanwhile, Gelora Ramlan Beach Manager appreciated the construction of coastal safety carried out by the Ministry of PUPR.

He expressed his gratitude for the initiative from the Ministry of PUPR in the construction of coastal safety.
"We have witnessed how important this infrastructure is to protect Gelora Beach from abrasion. This development is not only a strong physical bulwark, but also a symbol of commitment to maintaining environmental beauty, especially in Sumbawa land," he said.
