Minister Of Communication And Information Says PPATK Finds New Mode Of Online Gambling With Pulse Deposit
JAKARTA - There is a new mode of online gambling using mobile operator credit deposits. This new finding was revealed by the Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi based on a report from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK).
Budi Arie said in the report, it was revealed that now online gamblers can use deposits through mobile operator pulses, which make the tracking process more difficult.
"(Regarding this) we will socialize it to all cellular operators," Budi Arie said in a statement quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 18.
The website that contains online gambling content using the credit deposit method is pafingada.org.
Regarding these findings, Budi Arie said the Ministry of Communication and Informatics would send an official letter to cellular operators so that they could play an active role in eradicating online gambling and not facilitating these activities.
"We will officially write to South Sumatra to firmly participate in eradicating online gambling and not facilitating online gambling," he said.

Budi Arie further said that cellular operators are very cooperative in handling online gambling.
Some cellular operators have even implemented SMS Blast to help make people aware of the dangers of online gambling for the family economy and the social environment.
In addition to launching SMS Blast, the Ministry of Communication and Information as the person in charge of prevention in the Online Gambling Eradication Task Force (Satgas Judi Online) routinely breaks access to sites loaded with online gambling.
From 17 July 2023 to 13 June 2024, the Ministry of Communication and Information has blocked 2,945,150 online gambling content.
The Ministry of Communication and Information has also submitted a request for the closure of 555 e-wallet accounts related to online gambling activities to Bank Indonesia and blocking 5,779 bank accounts related to online gambling to the Financial Services Authority (OJK) from September 18, 2023 to May 28, 2024.
From 17 July 2023 to 13 June 2024, the Ministry of Communication and Information has handled 16,596 gambling pages on educational sites and 18,974 gambling pages on government websites.
The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has sent a stern warning letter to managers X, Telegram, Google, Meta, and TikTok because their platform is widely used to disseminate content related to online gambling.
