Head Of BNPT: Arrest Of Terrorist Recidivists Is A Form Of Firmness By Law Enforcement Officials
JAKARTA - Head of the Indonesian National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) Komjen Pol. Mohammed Rycko Amelza Dahniel said that the arrest of terrorist recidivist in Cikampek, West Java, last Saturday, June 15, was a form of firmness by law enforcement officials.
"This is a form of firmness in preventing acts of terrorism violence that can cause casualties and property," Rycko said in a written statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, June 18.
The proactive effort, he said, was carried out by law enforcement officials so that other people could avoid various acts of violence that were more fatal.
For this reason, Rycko appreciated the proactive law enforcement of the Special Detachment 88 Anti-terror Team of the National Police for the arrest of terrorist recidivist at the end of last week.
"We give the highest appreciation to the National Police, especially to Densus 88 who have arrested terrorist recidivists in Cikampek, West Java," he said.
Previously, the Densus 88 Anti-terror Team raided a rented house where a suspected terrorist lived in West Kamojing Village, Kamojing Village, Cikampek District, Karawang Regency, West Java, Saturday, June 15.
The investigative team confiscated evidence in the form of white and yellow powders during a search of the rented house inhabited by suspected terrorists.
After the raid, Densus 88 has also arrested a terrorist recidivist with the initials AAR.
Densus 88 investigators also confiscated a number of evidences from AAR's residence, in the form of electronic components and explosives.

According to the Head of the Public Information Bureau of the National Police's Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Pol. Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, the involvement of suspect AAR in terrorism crimes is affiliated with Islamic State groups Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in Karawang Regency.
AAR is also a recidivist in terrorism cases in 2011 and 2018 over planning terror acts using explosives.
While living in the rented house that was raided, AAR tended to cover up his identity so that residents did not know and only knew AAR as a seller of spinal cord porridge. AAR has been signing at the house since May 12, 2024.
