BMKG: Rain Potentially Disburses All Regions Of Indonesia Today
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) stated that rain has the potential to flush the majority of regions in Indonesia on Tuesday, June 18, such as Aceh, North Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, and Bangka Belitung Islands.
Reported by Antara, apart from these areas, areas that also have the potential to rain are East Java, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, Maluku and Papua.
Based on the official BMKG website in Jakarta, Tuesday, various areas will experience rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds at a speed of 45 kilometers per hour.
BMKG Deputy for Meteorology Guswanto explained that Indonesia will have the potential to be hit by rain until at least September even though it has started entering the dry season.
This happens because of several atmospheric dynamics that are still active in Indonesian territory, the Madden Julian Oscillation (MJO) phenomenon, Rossby equatorial waves, Kelvin, to cyclonic circulation patterns and the potential for the formation of bend areas and wind slowdown.
