Transporting 73,434 Passengers During The Peak Of The Eid Holiday, Garuda Boss: We Move Dynamically

JAKARTA - Garuda Indonesia Group recorded a total of 73,434 passengers on all flight routes at the peak of the Eid holiday which crashed on Friday, June 14 yesterday.

President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra, detailed that as many as 35,041 passengers were served by the Garuda Indonesia brand, as well as 38,393 passengers served with the low cost carrier (LCC) Citilink line.

At the peak of the movement of passengers for the long weekend Eid al-Adha period, Garuda Indonesia Group also recorded a timeliness rate of up to 85 percent of the total 456 flights operated by Garuda Indonesia and Citilink.

In line with the 2024 Eid Al-Adha Holiday, in the period 13-18 June 2024, Garuda Indonesia Group projects that it will carry at least 335,819 passengers, of which Garuda Indonesia projects that it will carry at least 165,195 passengers and Citilink around 170,624 passengers.

Meanwhile, during that period, Garuda Indonesia Group operated 2,587 flights, which were optimized by increasing flight capacity through the operation of wide-body fleets and the operation of at least 14 additional flights (extra flight), of which 10 flights were operated by Citilink.

This number will certainly continue to move dynamically in line with the movement of passengers traveling during the long weekend period of Eid which is expected to continue until the end of next week.

Garuda Indonesia Group continues to optimize its efforts to meet the community's needs for flight services, either by maximizing the availability of flight capacity or passenger services.

Through these efforts, he continued, Garuda Indonesia Group can provide excellent service for passengers during the 2024 Eid Holiday period, which is projected to grow by 5 to 8 percent compared to passenger traffic before the holiday period.

"We will continue to monitor the movement of passengers who will certainly continue to move dynamically, especially on routes that record a fairly high level of occupancy, such as flights to Denpasar, Lombok and Medan. Moreover, this year's Eid holiday period coincides with the start of the holiday season for school children," said Irfan.

In line with the moments of Eid Holidays and the moments of the upcoming school holidays, his party projects the growth of passengers who will continue to move dynamically, our focus is how Garuda Indonesia Group can continue to strive to ensure the smooth operation of flights during that period.

One of them is by coordinating intensively with airport stakeholders to ensure the safety, security, and comfort of passengers at all touch points of service.

The aspect of fleet feasibility or airworthiness is also the Company's focus in optimizing Garuda Indonesia Group's operational readiness during the Eid al-Adha holiday this time.

In this regard, the Garuda Maintenance Facility (GMF) has carried out a number of preparations and mitigations before the start of the peak season period, starting from the completion of the aircraft restructuring program; increase the number of manpower; accelerate the procurement of aircraft spare parts, especially fast-moving parts needed in solving technical problems; to the addition of the Ground Support Equipment.
