PP Muhammadiyah Cuts Sacrificial Cows From President Jokowi At RPH Cipulir

JAKARTA - The Muhammadiyah Central Executive (PP) will carry out the slaughter of sacrificial animals from the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo at the Cipulir Slaughterhouse (RPH), Tangerang, Banten.

Head of the PP Muhammadiyah Jakarta Office, Malik, revealed that the slaughter of sacrificial cattle was carried out on Tuesday, June 18, or the second day of Eid al-Adha. The main reason the cutting is done at the RPH is to ensure the health aspects of sacrificial animals and their effectiveness in the slaughter process.

General Secretary of PP Muhammadiyah, Abdul Mu'ti, emphasized the importance of cutting the qurban to be done with full kindness (ihsan) so that the animals sacrificed do not experience stress or pain. He also expressed his preference for cutting at the RPH that meets official hygiene standards.

Abdul also did not prevent people who chose to sacrifice outside the RPH such as mosques, fields, or schools, during the slaughter process properly and the sacrificial meat could be distributed to the public.

"Personally, I prefer that sacrificial animals be slaughtered in official slaughterhouses so that cleanliness is guaranteed," he said.

On this year's Eid al-Adha, President Jokowi donated one limousine cow weighing more than 1 ton to PP Muhammadiyah. In addition, PP Muhammadiyah also received donations of sacrificial cattle from Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and several other high-ranking state officials.

Currently, a number of sacrificial cows weighing from hundreds of kilograms to more than 1 tonne received by PP Muhammadiyah are at their head office in the Menteng area, Jakarta, and will soon be processed at the Cipulir RPH.
