DKI Jakarta DPRD Asks Food Stations To Increase Medium Rice Distribution
JAKARTA - Member of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Munir, asked PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya to increase the distribution of medium rice, especially to stalls in remote villages, not just modern retail stores.
"Distribute it to village rice shops, not only in minimarkets. So that people buy rice with good quality, not far away," said Munir, quoted from Antara, Saturday, June 15.
According to him, the availability of rice to the lowest level can make prices stable and people get good quality rice for consumption.
This, said Munir, was because the highest retail price (HET) of rice continued to creep up according to the Bapanas (Perbadan) regulation Number 5 of 2024.
HET rice for Java or Jakarta is IDR 12,500 per kilogram of medium rice and IDR 14,900 per kilogram for premium rice.
He said that the distribution of medium rice in traditional stalls needs to be increased, that way, people can buy rice at affordable prices.
"Food Stations must produce medium rice for the lower middle class of people, because many people complain about the high price of rice," he said.
He admitted that he received many complaints from residents who had difficulty finding medium rice because in minimarkets they sold more premium rice.
In fact, said Munir, in the online shop of the regional company, no medium rice was found, rerata was premium rice.

Even though they were asked to increase the production of medium rice, Munir appealed to the company to pay attention to quality.
"Get the medium ones out, don't just take out premium rice. The quality must also be good. We want to eat full, delicious," he said.
Munir also asked the BUMD to sell rice under HET because many residents admit that they have difficulty buying rice because of the high price.
