OJK Is Not Bored To Remind The Public To Beware Of Illegal Loans And Online Gambling
JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has asked the public to be aware of online loans and online gambling following the large number of criminal cases arising from these activities.
Head of OJK Surakarta Eko Hariyanto at the handover of positions in Solo, Central Java, Thursday, June 13, said that related to online loans, some were legal and illegal.
"What is legal is licensed and supervised by the OJK. We have standards, how much is the maximum per day, per week, per month, per year, the interest that can be charged to customers, also protects customers. If there is traffic jams, how do they collect, they must be polite," he said, quoted from Antara.
He said that according to the rules for data that can be accessed by online loan companies, there are three things, namely cameras, microphones, and locations.
"You can't ask for contact from family colleagues, and so on. If it's illegal, it's usually like that, the protection is like that. If the loan is legal, please complain to us, for example, billing is disrespectful," he said.
Meanwhile, to deal with illegal lending companies, his party cooperates with 16 ministries and institutions to form an Pasti task force or eradicate illegal financial activities.
"In this case, we as chairman. So apart from closing, blocking, there are police, prosecutors. Of course we will reach the criminal element if there is a criminal element," he said.
Meanwhile, specifically for online gambling, his party cooperates with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.
"So if it has to be closed, we will immediately coordinate with financial service institutions or banks to close it. So it must be synergy, education and literacy on the dangers of online gambling," he said.
