President And Prabowo Eat In The Afternoon While Discussing Gaza's Armistice To Humanitarian Aid

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo and Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto took a meal together at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta while discussing the ceasefire to humanitarian aid to Gaza, Palestine.

"I just met the President and was invited to eat, you could say it was a bit late, so it was an afternoon meal," said Defense Minister Prabowo when giving a press statement at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 13.

Prabowo, who had just landed at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta, after attending a Summit in Jordan, immediately met President Jokowi.

The elected president admitted to giving a report from the summit in Jordan to President Jokowi during the meeting which lasted more than an hour.

"I have just arrived from two countries, from Jordan and from Saudi Arabia, landed at Halim at 11 o'clock and was just received by the President. I report the results from the summit in Jordan, which is specifically to discuss humanitarian aid that can soon be prepared to anticipate a ceasefire that is expected to materialize," said Prabowo.

Prabowo explained the meeting also discussed anticipation if the ceasefire by Israel against Palestine did not materialize, such as steps must be taken so that a ceasefire is carried out and provides assistance to the Palestinian people.

He detailed that the summit, which was held at the invitation of King Jordan, President of Egypt and Secretary General of the United Nations, was also attended by the President of Palestine and several other heads of state, such as the Prime Minister of Spain, Slovenia, Morocco, Lebanon, the President of Rwanda and Cyprus.

Defense Minister Prabowo also admitted that he was ready to evacuate 1,000 patients from Gaza to be treated in Indonesia.

"The steps to regulate aid have been drawn up and Indonesia has announced that we are ready to evacuate 1,000 patients being treated in Indonesia and once they recover they will be returned to Gaza once the situation is normal," said Prabowo.

In addition to Jordan, Prabowo also reported his visit to Saudi Arabia and received by the Prime Minister as well as the crown prince and the Saudi Arabian Defense Minister.

During the meeting, Prabowo said that the two parties exchanged views and stated the continuation of cooperation between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia in various fields.

"There we exchanged views and information, and we agreed to continue close cooperation with the Government of Saudi Arabia. He conveyed greetings to President Jokowi and stated that he wanted close cooperation with Indonesia," said Prabowo.
