Chery And UNICEF Review Post-Earthquake Children Education Program In Turkey
The Chery Automobile and UNICEF have just made important visits to areas in Turkey affected by the devastating earthquake in February 2023. This visit lasted for two days, from June 6 to 7, 2024, focusing on educational programs for children in Hatay, Nurda totaling, and Kilis.
The team from Chery not only observed, but also were directly involved in various educational and skills development activities with students, teachers, and related parties. They also feel a high enthusiasm for learning and provide full support for local education initiatives.
The trip began by visiting Hilalkent 2 School in Hatay, a school built on cooperation between the Turkish Ministry of National Education and UNICEF. Tim Chery even participated in mathematics and Turkish lessons, as well as felt firsthand the dynamic learning atmosphere.

The visit continues with the UNICEF-backed early childhood education program (PAUD), including two PAUD centers that provide an overview of the challenges and current developments in this field in Turkey. The Chery team also participated in art and handicraft activities with PAUD children, creating a warm and memorable moment of togetherness.
At the Canpolat Youth Center Pasa, the Chery team gained insight into the skills training program that provides the younger generation with the abilities needed in the future. At Nurda totaling this, they witnessed robotics and 3D (3 Dimension) projects that carry innovative learning approaches. While at Kilis, they interacted with students who took art and English courses, showing the various educational opportunities available to support people affected by the earthquake.

Not only that, the Chery team also held in-depth discussions with local government officials, education department representatives, and UNICEF teams to understand more deeply about the progress of local education programs, including mobile digital technology.
