Indonesian workers contribute 56 percent of skilled workers in Japan. Many Indonesian migrant workers work in manufacturing, construction, maintenance and services.
For Indonesian citizens who want to work in Japan, there are two ways that can be taken, namely through the Department of Manpower (Depnaker) route and through the Work Training Institute (LPK) route. Here's the full explanation.
1. How to Work in Japan Through the Ministry of Manpower
The government provides facilities for people who want to work in Japan through the Ministry of Manpower.
The Ministry of Manpower has collaborated with the International Manpower Development Organization (IM-Japan), which opens up opportunities for anyone who wants to work or an internship in Japan. However, this program is only open once a year.
To be selected in this program, applicants must follow a very strict variety of processes. Workers who pass the selection will get a five-year work contract in Japan.
2. How to work in Japan through the line of work training institutions
Apart from going through the Ministry of Manpower, job seekers from Indonesia can also get jobs in Japan through the Job Training Institute (LPK) or what is often referred to as a private route.
LPK that can distribute labor to Japan is LPK which has a Sending Organization (SO) permit and operates in Indonesia. In addition, they also need to cooperate with the Accepted Organization (AO) in Japan.
Later prospective workers will receive training for about 3-5 months before being sent to Japan.
Unlike the previous route, the private route for prospective workers will spend personal funds to take care of all needs, because they do not receive subsidies from the government
It should be noted that before using LPK services, prospective workers are required to make prior observations of the LPK that will be used. This is due to the rampant fraud related to the recruitment and departure of Indonesian workers abroad.
