Zulhas Calls Prices Of Stable Basic Materials Ahead Of Eid Holidays

JAKARTA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan said the price of basic necessities is relatively stable. Especially ahead of the Eid al-Adha 1445 Hijri holiday or 2024.

"The basic needs of all are complete, prices are stable," said the Trade Minister quoting Antara.

From monitoring at one of the markets in the capital city of Central Java, Zulkifli said the price of a number of basic necessities was still within safe limits.

The price of medium and premium rice is in the range of Rp. 13,000 to Rp. 15,000 per kg.

In addition, he continued, the price of eggs is Rp. 28,000 per kg and chicken meat is Rp. 35,000 per kg.

"Ayam may be because many of its centers are too cheap. If it is Rp. 35,000, the farmers will lose," he said.

The increase, he continued, actually occurred at the price of shallots which reached Rp. 40,000 to Rp. 45,000 per kg.

Despite the increase, he said the price of onions was still below the price set by the government of Rp. 60,000 per kg so that farmers could make a profit.

During the visit, the Minister of Trade also distributed around 200 packs of free rice to market visitors.

"I always go to the market to buy rice to share," he said.
