Macron Jamu Joe Biden Eating Night, Will Discuss Israel To Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron will host United States (US) President Joe Biden for state visits marked with splendor and parades as well as talks on trade, Israel and Ukraine.

Biden and Macron, who have a warm relationship, will participate in a welcoming ceremony with their wife at the iconic Arc de Triomphe and parades on the Avenue des Champs-Elysees before holding a meeting on the issue policy and then attending dinner.

Biden previously hosted Macron for state visits at the White House in 2022.

"France is our... oldest and deepest ally. And this will be an important moment to affirm the alliance and also look to the future and what we must achieve together," US national security adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters.

Sullivan said talks between the two leaders would discuss Russia's war with Ukraine, Israel's war with Hamas in Gaza, cooperation in the Indo-Pacific, and policy issues ranging from climate change, artificial intelligence, to supply chains.

White House spokesman John Kirby said the countries would announce plans to cooperate in maritime law enforcement and the US Coast Guard and France's navy will discuss increasing cooperation.

Biden and Macron are also expected to discuss NATO strengthening, and both have pledged their country's support for Ukraine.

Although they have not approved the plan to use frozen Russian assets to help Kiev. A US Treasury Department official previously said the US and its G7 partners had made progress in this regard.
