Police Deploy 1,347 Personnel To Secure Palestinian Defense Action In Jakarta

Police officers deployed 1,347 personnel to escort and secure the Palestinian Defense action by the Indonesian Muslim Organization Alliance in front of the US Embassy, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

"In order to secure the Palestinian Defense Action at the US Embassy, we involved 1,347 personnel," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, June 8.

Regarding traffic engineering, he said, it is only situational depending on conditions on the ground.

"If we increase the escalation, we will close the Merdeka Selatan road, we will divert the traffic flow. So we urge people who will pass in front of the US Embassy, Jalan Merdeka Selatan to look for alternative roads," he said.

Susatyo also appealed to the participants of the Palestinian Defense Action to pay attention to the rights of other people, and orderly to express their opinions in public.

"We urge anyone who will express their opinions in public, as stipulated in the law on conveying the opinion of the rights of every citizen, of course, must pay attention to other public rights, so that the rules in the law on expressing opinions in public, please obey it," he said.

The police also reminded all personnel involved in security to always act persuasively, not provoked, prioritize negotiations, services and humaneism.

"No one carries firearms. Serve our brothers who will express their opinions sincerely, sincerely and humanely. We pray together, hopefully the Palestinian Israeli conflict will end soon and world peace will be created," said Susatyo.
