Not So July, BMW M5 PHEV Will Debut This Month

JAKARTA - The latest generation of M5 reportedly launched this month which was previously rumored to be debuting in July.

Quoted from the BMW Blog, Thursday, June 6, one of the manufacturer's representatives said that the high-performance sedan will be launched at the end of June, but the date is still uncertain.

Furthermore, BMW will reveal the latest M5 first which will then be followed by the launch of the station wagon version at the end of this year. Presentation of the sedan is expected to take place online, but public views are also scheduled for Festival M in Poland next month.

In recent times, the sedan has been caught on surveillance cameras several times being tested. Just like before, this latest M5 will have more powerful performance than its standard version.

It is also rumored that the M5 will carry the Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) system. This sedan will be equipped with a fierce V8 engine, combining it with a hybrid system while strengthening the company's commitment to complement its electrification line.

Rumors say, the latest M5 will use a machine from XM Label Red, namely V8 4.4 liters which can produce up to 738 dk of power. However, the manufacturer said it would reduce it to 718 dk with a torque of 1,030 Nm.

If this rumor is true, then the car will have up to 101 dk of power or greater than the last M5 CS. Thus, the vehicle has a very large weight of up to 2,435 kg from before and the wagon version.

In addition to engines, the latest M5 will also use the same PHEV system as XM. Thus, it is estimated that the car can have pure electric power capable of providing up to 80 km of range in one charge.
