Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Calls Islamic Finance Not Only For The Interest Of Muslims Only
JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin emphasized that Islamic economics and finance are not ideas that are echoed solely for the benefit of Muslims.
"However, it has become a practice that is widely accepted by all community groups because of their nature and essence which is not only for Muslims but is inclusive and also prioritizes justice," said the Vice President in his remarks during the inauguration of the Regional Committee for Sharia Economics and Finance (KDEKS) of Southwest Papua in Sorong City, Southwest Papua, quoted from Antara, Thursday 6 June.
Therefore, continued the Vice President, Islamic economics and finance are also developing in countries that are mostly non-Muslims like in the UK.
"Even sharia financial education, Britain is a center for sharia financial education. There, many of our children took the S-3 in England, now they also work a lot at Bank Indonesia and also the Ministry of Finance," said the Vice President.
The vice president explained that in the global order, countries with a population of the majority of non-Muslims have actually reaped opportunities and benefits from the rapid development of the Islamic economy and finance.
"Now it has a high value of sharia economic benefits, both halal products, tourism and pharmaceuticals and many commodities that are now a kind of halal business in this world," said the Vice President.
The vice president gave an example of Brazil, Australia, and Britain at the forefront of exporting halal food products.
"Even the largest halal food is in Brazil even though the majority of the population is non-Muslim. Therefore, we want Indonesia in the future not only to become the largest halal consumer but we want to become the largest halal producer in the world," he said.
In addition, said the Vice President, South Korea and Japan are also consistently developing Muslim-friendly tourism.

According to him, various regions in the country have benefited from the economic and financial benefits of sharia in the development and distribution of welfare.
