Mahfud MD Regarding Jampidsus Followed By Densus 88: The Government Must Clear!, The President Can Immediately

JAKARTA - Former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD said that the suspicion of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Andriansyah by Densus 88 should be revealed. Related officials should explain to the public the problem that occurred.

"The government should have explained. There are officials who have the authority to disburse this," Mahfud said in a written statement quoted on Thursday, June 6.

If the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, who is currently in office, is unable to make this problem clear, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is considered to be able to go down directly. Mahfud said, Jokowi has a responsibility to resolve this polemic.

Moreover, the public has given the spotlight. "If at the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs can't yet, it can be the president directly. This is all the president's responsibility," said the constitutional law expert.

Mahfud assessed that officials related to debt explanations to the public. This is because the stalking of Jampidsus Febrie Andriansyah by Densus 88 is unusual.

Moreover, the Densus 88 called Mahfud is not in charge of dealing with corruption problems based on his initiator's statement, Inspector General (Ret.) Ansyaad Mbai. Thus, the explanation of the incident must be explained clearly.

"Internal completion alone is not enough. If you do those tasks, it must be clear what the masal is. Whose assignment letter is from. Well, this is not there. If it's not easy, the person has been arrested, just interrogated. That's it, 'here's where you came from to do that', "he explained.

Furthermore, Mahfud also commented on the convoy carried out by the police on the grounds of operating to create conditions in front of the Attorney General's Office. He said, explanations must also be given because the area should not just enter.

"There should be every night if you really want to maintain security, this must be explained to the public because the community must be given peace," he said.

"If things like this, the Attorney General's Office will be affected, especially those who are not the Attorney General's Office, right, people will say that. Well, this is what the Attorney General's Office has arrested, then it appears to the public, I was assigned by this, for this, right," concluded the former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK).
