The Grand Coalition Of Technology Companies To Fight COVID-19 Hoax On The Internet
JAKARTA - The spread of hoaxes and disinformation related to the corona virus pandemic (SARS-Cov-2) or COVID-19 is widespread on social media networks. This has led large companies, such as Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Reddit and Twitter to work together to fight hoaxes on the internet.
Launching from Business Insider, the technology company managers agreed to work hand in hand to fight hoaxes related to the COVID-19 pandemic. They will also coordinate with world health organizations in delivering accurate information about the corona virus.
"We are working closely with each other on the response to Covid-19. We are helping millions of people stay connected while fighting fake news and misinformation about the virus," they wrote in a joint statement.

The social media network Facebook, for example, bans advertisements and unofficial information related to COVID-19 that could cause public unrest on its platform. The microblogging service Twitter also intends to delete tweets about the misleading corona virus.
Meanwhile, Google tries to provide official and accurate information based on the official website regarding the handling of COVID-19. Google will not hesitate to remove sites that contain wrong information about the corona virus and actually make the public worry.
Microsoft even launched a digital mapping site to track the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak around the world. The YouTube video sharing site has also begun to regularly display the latest information from the WHO world health agency.
