Jokowi Groundbreaking Nusantara Sustainability Hub At IKN Results Of Pertamina-Bakrie Group Cooperation

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) laid the first stone or groundbreaking for the construction of the Nusantara Sustainability Hub in the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN), North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province, today.

In his remarks, Jokowi revealed that the construction of the Nusantara Sustainability Hub as a result of the collaboration between PT Pertamina and Bakrie Group will attract other companies to invest in IKN.

"I really appreciate the construction of the Nusantara Sustainability Hub by the cooperation between PT Pertamina and PT Bakrie and other companies. Later, this will attract other companies, other universities to be able to work together here," he said as seen on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Wednesday, June 5.

Jokowi hopes that the development of the Nusantara Sustainability Hub can become a showcase as well as state research and development of new economies, especially the green economy in the country.

"And by saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this morning I officially declare that the groundbreaking of the Nusantara Sustainability Hub has begun," he said.

On the same occasion, the CEO and President Director of PT Bakrie and Brothers Tbk Anindya Novyan Bakrie expressed his gratitude for being given the opportunity to work with Pertamina to build a Nusantara Sustainability Hub at IKN.

"We are very grateful to be given the opportunity with our partner Pertamina. This is all the president started with a dream and an idea inspired by your big idea that IKN is not only a physical building but this is a change in the mindset of a way of thinking, lifestyle and even civilization," he said.

"This is what makes us think and dream in the future of the president that why not IKN, one of which can become an environmentally friendly digital city (green silicon valley)," he continued.

Anindya hopes that the development of the Nusantara Sustainability Hub will make IKN a just and sustainable city in the future.

"So, if the valley silicon is a goal rather than 20th century technology, this is where the goal of the 21st century. Mr. President, we feel that it is not only growth that brings prosperity to the wider community, but also fair and sustainable," he said.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati said that the development of the Nusantara Sustainability Hub aims to realize Indonesia's energy resilience and independence.

"It's not just physical that we built, but we are starting to make stages to realize Indonesia's energy resilience and independence," he said.
