Minister Of Religion Gus Yaqut: Make Nyepi A Momentum To Glorify Nature

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas invites all Hindus in the country to make Nyepi Day 2021 as a momentum to glorify nature.

"Let's give nature a moment's pause to regain its balance. We honor nature, so nature will honor the dignity and dignity of humanity," said Yaqut in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Saturday, March 13.

Gus Yaqut, his nickname, hopes that Hindus can explore the deepest meaning that is believed from the commemoration of the Nyepi Holy Day while undergoing Catur Brata Penyepian; Amati Geni, Amati Karya, Amati Lelungan, and Amati Lelanguan.

Amati Geni means that during Nyepi all Hindus are not allowed to light fires or lamps. The fire symbol is associated with that which is within, such as anger, jealousy and unkind thoughts.

Amati Karya means that Hindus are not allowed to do any activity outside the home, including working. Observe Karya as Nyepi ethics which means self-evaluation in connection with the work (work) to reflect on the work results in a year and before, have they been beneficial to human life.

Amati Lelungan means that Hindus are not allowed to travel or leave the house. Amati Lelungaan means that humans must evaluate their relationship with God, nature, and humans.

Meanwhile, Amati Lelanguan means not having fun when celebrating Nyepi Day. It aims to focus on Ida Sanghyang Widhi.

"Find the beauty of the shady light of the self in the dark and quiet of undergoing the lonely Chess Brata, hopefully it will become a lantern in looking at the future of the nation and state," he said.

He also invited Hindus to pray that the COVID-19 pandemic would end soon. "Hopefully the COVID-19 pandemic will soon pass in harmony towards an advanced Indonesia," he said.
