Vice President Hopes IKN Development Will Not Be Hampered Even Though Bambang Susantono Resigns

MERAUKE - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin hopes that the infrastructure development of the Capital Nusantara (IKN) will continue and there will be no obstacles after the resignation of the head and deputy head of the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN).

"I hope this development will continue as stated by the President (Joko Widodo) and there will be no obstacles even though the head of OIKN and deputy head have resigned," said the Vice President giving a press statement after reviewing the Tebu Sermayam Plantation Area in Merauke Regency, South Papua, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 4.

Moreover, said the Vice President, the President has also appointed Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono as Acting Head of the IKN Authority and Deputy Minister of ATR Raja Juli Antoni as Acting Deputy Head of the IKN Authority so that IKN development is ensured not disrupted.

"Because there are already temporary replacements and we hope this will continue to run well," said the Vice President.

The vice president said that the Minister of PUPR from the start had also been directly involved in the development at the IKN.

"I think Mr. Basuki is indeed continuously carrying out his duties as Minister of PUPR for its construction, so it means that currently there is no vacancy," said the Vice President.

Meanwhile, regarding the reason for the resignation of the head and deputy head of OIKN, the Vice President admitted that he did not know about it either. According to him, self-reducing is a common thing.

"I don't know why that is, Mr. Pratikno (Minister of State Secretary) did not explain. I think it's normal for us to develop it, some have resigned and then replaced it," he said.

Minister of State Secretary Pratikno announced the resignation of OIKN Chief Bambang Susantono and OIKN Deputy Dhony Rahajoe at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Monday (3/6).

Following up on this, this has been issued per day by the Presidential Decree (Keppres) which appointed Basuki Hadimuljono as Acting Head of OIKN and King Juli Antoni as Acting Deputy Chief of OIKN.

The President asked Basuki and Raja Juli to ensure the best possible acceleration of development, according to the vision of Nusa Rimba Raya's plan and to provide positive benefits for the community.
