The Mbappe wage in Madrid was reduced by 51 million pounds or approximately Rp1.058 trillion. If you look at his last salary at PSG of 63.9 million pounds (Rp1.3 trillion), it means that Mbappe only receives around 12.8 million pounds (Rp265 billion) per year.
However, Mbappe remains happy to move to the capital city of Spain.
"Dreams come true. Very happy and proud to join my dream club Real Madrid."
"No one can understand how happy I am at this time. Can't wait to meet you, Madridistas. Thank you for your incredible support. Hala Madrid!" he said.
In addition to the amount of the salary, Mbappe was reported to have received a signing bonus of 106.5 million or around Rp. 2.2 trillion.
The bonus was much bigger than what he received at PSG of 25.6 million pounds (Rp 531 billion).
However, the signing bonus in Madrid was paid in installments during his contract.
The inauguration of Mbappe's arrival made the club's official website down because many Madridista visited.
Mbappe's presence gave birth to his own euphoria among supporters. You see, the 25-year-old has been a hot issue in Madrid for the past few years.
After several transfer windows failed to reach an agreement, Mbappe finally anchored as a free transfer player because he did not renew his contract at PSG.
Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe announced his farewell to PSG last month. He expressed his emotional gratitude to supporters, colleagues at the club, and officials.
Interestingly, there was no say for PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
"PSG is a club that never makes anyone indifferent. We can like it or hate it, I make choices to like it."
"I did it for seven years with joy and sorrow, of course, but I have no regrets signing a contract with this prestigious club."
"This is a club that I will remember my whole life. I will tell everyone, throughout my life, that I have the opportunity to play here."
"I will not be a player (PSG) anymore, but of course I will continue to watch every game. This is a club that I will always be interested in. I will always follow the news closely."
"I want to thank you because without all of you I will never experience half of the emotions I feel."
"Just for that, I am grateful for this life. Thank you everyone," said Mbappe.
There was no farewell to PSG President Al-Khelaifi, making speculation that the two were fighting sticking out.
PSG president is said to have approached Mbappe before Ligue 1's match against Toulouse on May 12, 2024 to question why he didn't get credit.
According to Le Parisien, the situation is getting tenser. A witness stated that his wall was in a feud in the dressing room before the match. This then resulted in a four-minute delay in PSG's warm-up.
Apart from that, Mbappe, who is widely considered one of the best players in the world, almost moved to Madrid in 2022.
Real Madrid seem to have given everything to lure Mbappe to Bernabeu on a free transfer.
However, it ended up failing when the star signed a two-year extension at the Parc des Princes in an unexpected turnaround.
The deal is now over which means Mbappe can complete his move to join the La Liga champions.
Mbappe joined the club just days after Real Madrid won their 15th Champions League title at Wembley.
Mbappe's presence will give birth to a new generation of 'Galcticos' which seems to dominate European football in the future.
He will join other young stars, such as Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr, and Rodrygo.
