Indonesia Open 2024 Results: Sweet Beginning Of Two Mixed Doubles

JAKARTA Two Indonesian representatives from the mixed doubles sector started their journey at the Indonesia Open 2024 perfectly.

The couple in question are Adnan Maulana/Nita Violina Marwah and Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja. Both won two straight games over their opponents.

The mixed doubles pair Adnan Maulana/Nita Violina Marwah became the first representatives to open a Red-White victory that locked the ticket to the second round of the Indonesia Open 2024.

Tickets for the second round of the BWF Super 1000 event were pocketed after beating the German pair, Jan Colin Voelker/Isabel Lohau, with a score of 21-11 and 21-19 at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

"We are grateful that we can step into the next round. Facing opponents like this, we should play more pressing and not panic when we are overtaken," said Adnan after the match.

Throughout this year, the performance of Thailand International Challenge 2023 runners-up has not been consistent. Starting from the Indonesia Masters, Thailand Masters, Spain Masters, to Thailand Open, Adnan/Nita recorded only reaching the last 16.

Therefore, the pair who became the semifinalist of the 2023 Odisha Master have ambitions to be able to go further when playing in front of the public itself.

"We have evaluated several tournaments so we want to continue to try to what extent our capabilities are," said Nita.

Adnan/Nita will then face the winner of the match between fellow Thai representatives, namely Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai against Supak Jomkoh/Kittinupong Kedren in the round of 16.

Moments after Adnan/Nita, it was Dejan/Gloria's turn to rise from behind against China's Taipei representative, Ye Hong Wei/Lee Chia Hsin, to catch up with their compatriots. Dejan/Gloria won with a tight score, 21-19 and 21-19.
