Censor 41,491 Film And Advertising Titles In 2023, LSF Uses Dialogue Approach
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Film Censorship Institute (LSF), Rommy Fibri Hardiyanto, reported that the LSF experienced an increase in the number of film titles and advertisements from 2022 to 2023. Rommy explained that in 2023, the LSF had already carried out the censorship process as many as 41,491 film titles and advertisements from various durations of time.
"So I can say that in 2023 the LSF will censor a total of 41,491 film titles and film advertisements. Don't imagine that all the 90, 120-minute feature films have advertisements that are only 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds. So there are 41,491 titles," explained Rommy Fibri Hardiyanto in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, Monday, June 3.
"There is an increase. In 2022, 40 thousand. In 2023 41,491, it has increased by more than a thousand," he added.
Furthermore, Rommy explained that LSF graduated all the titles and film advertisements given by film owners. However, the passing of the sensor is still accompanied by several minor revisions requested by the LSF to the film owner.

"Well, everyone passed the censorship. So the LSF never passed the film, so everyone passed the censorship. Because indeed the LSF approach is dialogue," he said.
"Dialogue means this, so if you have a censored film at the LSF, then there are certain scenes that cause violation of regulations, for example the most obvious and clear are scenes of nudity elements, of course this violates the Pornography Law and Pornoaction," said Rommy.
In addition to increasing the number of titles and film advertisements, Rommy also explained regarding the Socialization of Integrity Zone Development Towards a Corruption-Free Region (ZI-WBK) within the Film Censorship Institute.
