PUPR Minister Basuki Hopes Investor Confidence Remains High Even Though The Head Of OIKN Resigns

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono hopes that investor confidence will remain high after the resignation of the Head of the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN) Bambang Susantono and OIKN Deputy Dhony Rahajoe from his position.

Minister of State Secretary Pratikno announced the resignation. Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono was appointed as Acting Head of the IKN Authority and Deputy Minister of ATR Raja Juli Antoni as Deputy Head of the IKN Authority.

"But I don't think there is a problem. Hopefully, it will increase trust because it replaces ministers and deputy ministers," Basuki said when met at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday, June 3.

Basuki explained that the task force (Plt.) of the Head of the IKN Authority is no different from the tasks that have been carried out by Bambang Susantono as the previous official.

He considered that his appointment as Plt. The Head of the IKN Authority did not reduce investor confidence in the sustainability of IKN development.

Basuki added that currently the progress of IKN development has reached 80 percent for stages 1 and 2 with the use of APBN funds.

President Joko Widodo, who is planned to lay the first stone for a number of facilities from Monday to Wednesday (5/6), will no longer spend the night in the camping area, but at the minister's house.

"Later, the President will go to IKN, so he doesn't stay camping anymore but is already at the ministerial office, showing that this is ready. That is from the state budget," said Basuki.

The task of Basuki and Deputy Minister of ATR Raja Juli Antoni is to resolve the issue of land status to the formation of a special regional government for IKN.

The clarity of the land status, said Basuki, will accelerate investment in IKN.
