Zurich Increases Literacy And Insurance Inclusion For UI Academic Civitas

JAKARTA - PT Zurich Asuransi Indonesia Tbk, PT Zurich General Takaful Indonesia, and PT Zurich Topas Life collaborated with PT Universal Indonesia Mobile (UI Mobile) to increase insurance literacy and inclusion for the academic community of the University of Indonesia (UI).

"So far, insurance protection is still not commonly seen as a priority among young people, even though the habit of protecting oneself must start from a young age," said President Director of Indonesian Insurance Zurich Edhi Tjahja Negara in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday, June 3.

According to him, through this collaboration, his party can reach more than 27,000 active students, alumni, lecturers, parents, and university staff who are in the UI Mobile digital ecosystem.

He said that these efforts aim to encourage awareness and access to conventional general insurance, general sharia insurance, and life insurance among academics.

"This collaboration is the first step to introduce insurance that is easier to understand and access in academic circles, so that all parties involved can find out various insurance benefits in unexpected risk management and better financial planning," said Edhi.

UI Mobile is a super special application for UI academic community who offers student value checking services, information on teaching and learning activities, student activity information, feature-wallet, and tuition fee payments.

Through the collaboration of Zurich Indonesia and UI Mobile, various insurance protection information can be accessed through this application, such as self-accident insurance, travel insurance, and various other insurance products.

Director of UI Mobile Kurniawan Saktiaji said that this collaboration is an important step to provide understanding of insurance to young people through digital channels.

He said that considering that the younger generation is the group that understands technology the most, the approach taken needs to be adjusted to their character.

He also appreciated the collaboration with Zurich Indonesia which seeks to bring insurance literacy and inclusion closer to daily students and users of the UI Mobile ecosystem as an interesting step.

"We are optimistic that this cooperation can be well received and utilized by the UI academic community," said Kurniawan.
