Anies Volunteers Claim Sudirman Said Can Overcome Polarization In Jakarta

JAKARTA - Volunteers supporting Anies Baswedan assessed that Sudirman Said has the potential to become a candidate for Governor of the Special Region of Jakarta (DKJ) on November 27, 2024, because he is considered to be able to overcome polarization in the community.

"I think Mr. Dirman has the potential to eliminate or reduce polarization tension in Jakarta. This polarization has an impact on all of Indonesia, not only Jakarta," said Anies Volunteer Initiator Ramli Rahim in a consolidation of volunteers in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, May 31.

According to Ramli, even though Anies is still predicted to be a strong candidate for Governor of DKJ, the public needs an open figure in the figure of Sudirman Said.

"We need another figure, so the shot now focuses on Mr. Anies. We need another figure who is more open, wider, because we want polarization in Jakarta to be finished," said Ramli.

The claim, said Ramli, can be seen from the acceptance of Sudirman Said by parties from the Coalition for Change and parties outside the Change Coalition, such as Democrats and Gerindra.

"And Alhamdulillah, it seems that it can be accepted more easily, not only in the Coalition for Change, but outside the Coalition for Change as well. As an open statement from friends of the Democrats, it has been conveyed, Gerindra's friends are also open with Mr. Dirman," he said.

Ramli also said that it was unlikely that Anies would be paired with Sudirman Said in the upcoming DKJ Pilkada.

"If you become governors together, it looks small. If you close your potential in politics, there is no dead key," he said. "But in my opinion, it's almost impossible. Because Mr. Dirman has conveyed it to the public, he is 01 or not at all," said Ramli.

In addition, he said, it is unlikely that Anies and Sudirman Said will become political opponents.

"If it turns out that it happened even though it might be small, I think it's small. If it's still Dirman, it looks like Mr. Anies doesn't seem like it," he said. "So even if that happens, we will see the end at the KPU. Because it's registration at the KPU," said Ramli.

Regarding the support of political parties, said Ramli, Sudirman Said has met seven political parties. But Ramli did not name the seven political parties.

"Indeed, there is a special team that consolidates with political parties. So whether there is a Dirman, consolidation is in line with political parties. And Alhamdulillah, the response of political parties is quite good," he said. "Now, as far as I know, until last night there have been seven political parties meeting him," said Ramli.
