Members Of The Medan Bawaslu Who Were Affected By The OTT For Bribery Cases Sentenced To 1.5 Years In Prison
The panel of judges at the Medan District Court (PN) sentenced the defendant Azlansyah Hasibuan as the inactive commissioner of the Medan Bawaslu and his partner Fachmy Wahyudi each with a prison sentence of one year and six months or 1.5 years.
"In addition, the two defendants paid a fine of Rp. 50 million provided that if it was not paid, it would be replaced with imprisonment for one month," said Chief Judge Andriansyah at the Medan District Court as reported by ANTARA, Friday, May 31.
Andriansyah said the panel of judges believed that the two defendants were found guilty of violating Article 11 of Law No. 20 of 2001 concerning amendments to Law No. 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code.
"The thing that burdens the two actions of the defendants does not support the government's program in eradicating corruption," he said.
Meanwhile, mitigating factors, saidAndriansyah, the two defendants had never been convicted, were polite during the trial.

After reading the verdict from the panel of judges, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office, Gomgom Halomoan Simbolon, is still thinking about it.
This verdict is lighter than the prosecutor's demands for two years in prison and a fine of Rp. 50 million, subsidiary to one month in prison for the two defendants.
Previously, the case was revealed after the North Sumatra Police Illegal Sweeping Team (Saber Pungli) conducted a hand arrest operation (OTT).
A member of the Medan City Bawaslu with the initials AH (32), who is the Coordinator of the Public and Public Participation Prevention and Participation Division, was caught OTT by the Operational Team of the Saber Extortion Working Group of the North Sumatra Police on November 14, 2023 at a hotel in Medan City.
