Task Force Provides Food Needs For Refugees From Mount Ibu Eruption
TERNATE - The Task Force Team for Handling the Eruption of Mount Ibu, West Halmahera Regency, North Maluku (Malut) provides food needs for refugees due to the eruption of Mount Ibu, through the field kitchen in the evacuation tent.
"We provide 6,000 servings of food for the refugees every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner so that cooking activities never stop because every time we cook 2,000 servings after distribution we prepare again to cook for the next meal time," said the Commander of the Transportation Briefing Detachment (Dandbekang) of the Mount Eruption Handling Task Force. West Halmahera Regency Lt. Col. Cba Mulia reported by ANTARA, Friday, May 31.
The task force team serves food needs for victims of the eruption of Mount Ibu which reached 1,960 people in refugee camps, such as in Gam Ici, Tongute Ternate, and Tongute Deni.
"In addition, the basic needs of the community as much as possible we will fulfill and let's pray that the activities of Mount Ibu will continue to decline so that we can reduce their status to level III and people can return to their homes," he said.
His party also expressed readiness to help the needs of residents related to repairing their damaged houses, the impact of the volcanic eruption.
"Later on, we will help people whose houses are damaged by the eruption, especially building materials, such as zinc and cement and will be recorded by the local government," he said.
On the sidelines of a working visit to the evacuation site for the eruption of Mount Ibu, the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Lt. Gen. Suharyanto took the time to inspect the public kitchen and the health post held by Denbekang Ternate and the Regional Health Detachment (Denkesyah) Ternate.

During the visit on Thursday (30/5), the Head of BNPB Lt. Gen. Suharyanto checked the health post established by Denkesyah Ternate in collaboration with the West Halmahera Health Office and West Jailolo Halmahera Hospital to provide public health services.
So far, people who seek treatment at the post are dominated by those who suffer from acute respiratory tract infections (ispa).
He said the command post and evacuation team had been prepared when Mount Ibu began to show increased activity, a few weeks ago.
This is a form of Korem 152/Baabullah's concern for the community through cooperation with all related components.
