Stimulating Crossing Towards Tourist Destinations To 3T Regions, ASDP Committed To Support Inter-regional Connectivity
JAKARTA - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) is committed to supporting inter-regional connectivity by spurring ferry services to tourist destinations, including in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas.
ASDP Corporate Secretary Shelvy Arifin said in a statement in Jakarta, Friday, May 31, that as a BUMN, ASDP has contributed to increasing the tourism sector in areas including 3T through the existence of ports and ferry vessels, which connects these areas.
"The presence of ASDP in supporting connectivity in the 3T region is a form of ASDP's commitment to support government programs in facilitating access to tourism and improving people's welfare through new economic opportunities to lifting a variety of local cultural wealth," he said, as reported by Antara.
To date, it is recorded that ASDP Group serves 214 pioneer routes with a fleet of 84 ships. The number of pioneer trajectories covers 67 percent or takes the majority of the total trajectory of 320 ASDP Group trajectories in total.
"Meanwhile, ASDP's commercial track amounts to 106 trajectories or 33 percent," said Shelvy.
Of course, continued Shelvy, the presence of ASDP pioneering services in a number of 3T areas contributed to economic growth in each region.
Based on data from Pioneer production from January to April 2024, the total production of the total passengers of the pioneering ship reached 363,991 people, while the total number of 2 and 3 wheeled vehicles was 127,027 units.
"The total number of 4-wheeled vehicles or more was recorded at 46,052 units and logistics reached 147,255 units," explained Shelvy.
Shelvy added that ASDP ships are connected to well-known tourist destinations in the 3T region, such as KMP Lema's pioneering service in the Sorong-Papua area, which serves the Sorong-Waigoo route, Sorong-Babo, Sorong-Kokas.
Through this route in the easternmost region of Indonesia, tourists can enjoy a trip to Raja Ampat's world-class tourist destination, dubbed The Last of Paradise.
ASDP also operates KMP Terubuk I, Sorong-Arefi, Arefi-PAM, Sorong-Linlas, to go to Raja Ampat's destination.
The presence of the KMP Kokonao pioneer ship on the Pomako-Atsy-Eci-Sawaema track, Papua, has also become a contributor in developing a number of tourist destinations, including the Pomako Mangrove Forest Ecotourism and the world-famous Asmat culture.

Apart from Papua, ASDP ships were also present to the Wakatobi destination, Southeast Sulawesi, on the KMP Sultan Murhum II ship, which sailed the pioneering route of Kamaru-Kaledupa-Tomia-Binongko.
Meanwhile, North Sulawesi can be reached through the KMP Tarusi ship to reach tourist destinations in Likupang and KM Lumpa on the pioneering route of Bastiong-Moti-Makian-Kayoa, which will facilitate trips to Ternate City and South Halmahera Regency in North Maluku.
"Through this service, ASDP plays a role in developing tourism and the regional economy as well as improving the welfare of people in the 3T region," said Shelvy.
"Through this effort, ASDP hopes to continue to support increased connectivity and provide real benefits for the community and encourage economic growth and tourism in Indonesia," added Shelvy.
