Kominfo Says Government And Other Stakeholders Need Cooperation To Create AI Regulations
JAKARTA - Intel is organizing its first AI Summit in Jakarta, bringing together industry leaders, independent software vendors (ISV), and content creators to explore the theme "Bringing AI Everywhere".
Intel's AI strategy is committed to an open approach where deep engagement with the developer ecosystem is critical to reducing barriers to AI adoption.
Not only that, Intel also hopes to produce new AI technology innovations for developers and customers to encourage ethical, responsible, and completely accessible AI.
In fact, Intel is also building platforms and technologies for AI and security convergence for customers, which can help secure AI data and models across data centers, cloud, PC, and Edge.
"In a world where every country and every industry is racing towards AI, Intel is the only company that has a full spectrum of hardware and software platforms," Jen Baile, VP of the Sales and Marketing Group of Intel Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand said on Thursday, May 30.
On the other hand, the Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, has taken steps forward in making AI regulations, including the Circular Letter of the Minister of Communication and Information on AI Ethics.
"There have been many regulations to anticipate, and finally Kominfo has SE Kominfo on AI Ethics," said the Directorate General of Information and Public Communication of the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Informatics Bambang Dwi Anggono.

However, Bambang emphasized that the government's business continuity in regulating the use and development of AI in Indonesia needs support from the private sector.
"In general, the government has built a foundation so that the ecosystem above it can move better. But other sector roles are needed to formulate AI regulations," he added.
According to him, regulations are available that are implemented by sectors that want to build AI innovations are very important to create responsible AI.
