Ministry Of Foreign Affairs: 24 Indonesian Citizens Arrested In Saudi For Faking Hajj Visa For Others
A total of 24 Indonesian citizens (WNI) were arrested by the security authorities of Saudi Arabia for allegedly falsifying Hajj visas belonging to others during the examination.
Dozens of Indonesian citizens consisting of 22 worshipers and two coordinators were recorded as entering Saudi Arabia using a pilgrimage visa asyakhsiyah.
"On May 28, 2024, the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah has accompanied the examination and provided translator services for 24 Indonesian citizens who were arrested by the Saudi security authorities in Medina," said Director of Protection for Indonesian Citizens and BHI Ministry of Foreign Affairs Judha Nugraha as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 30.
Based on the latest information from the Saudi authorities, the 22 Indonesian pilgrims will be released. Meanwhile, the two coordinators will be prosecuted with the driver and bus owner.

Judha said the government would provide legal assistance to ensure the fulfillment of the rights of the two Indonesian citizens during the judicial process in Saudi Arabia.
