Giving Birth Without Husband, Karaoke Shooting In Semarang Admits Throwing Baby

SEMARANG - Police have arrested a woman with the initials SN (35), a resident of Wonosobo Regency, who was the perpetrator of the dumping of a baby found in front of the house of a resident on Jalan Tambra Dalam, North Semarang, Semarang City on May 6, 2024.

Deputy Head of Criminal Investigation at the Semarang Polrestabes Kompol Aris Munandar in Semarang, Thursday, said the perpetrator was arrested when he returned to his boarding house after returning to his hometown.

According to him, the investigation was carried out after members traced the testimony of witnesses and evidence at the location where the baby was found. Investigators, he said, then traced a karaoke place where the perpetrator worked.

"The karaoke place said that it turned out that two of its employees were pregnant," he said.

Investigators then went to the perpetrator's boarding house, he said, which turned out to have returned to his hometown. According to him, the perpetrator returned to Semarang on May 22, 2024, which was then secured by officers.

From the results of the examination, he said, the perpetrator admitted to being the mother of the abandoned baby boy. The perpetrator also admitted that he left the baby to the house of one of the residents he already knew

"The perpetrator gave birth alone in the boarding house room, then left his son at the house of a resident," he said.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning child protection.

Aris added that the perpetrator stated that he was ready to take care of his child, who is currently still being treated at the hospital. Previously, a baby boy who was thought to have just been born was found in front of the house of a resident on Jalan Tambra Dalam, North Semarang, Semarang City, on May 6, 2024.
