Israeli Tank Attacks Rafah Refugee Camp, 21 People Died

JAKARTA - Israeli tanks reportedly attacked a refugee camp in the evacuation area west of Rafah and killed 21 people.

Tanks moved towards the southern city center of Gaza for the first time, Tuesday, May 28, reported by Reuters.

Two days after Israeli airstrikes against another refugee camp that sparked global condemnation, Gaza's emergency services said four tank shells hit tents in Al-Mawasi, coastal territory.

It was reported that 12 people who died were women, according to medical officials in the area controlled by Hamas militants.

An Israeli military spokesman said: "Until now, we are not aware of this incident."

In the central area of Rafah, tanks and armored vehicles equipped with machine guns were spotted near the Al-Awda mosque, witnesses told Reuters. The Israeli military said its troops were continuing to operate in the Rafah region.
