Kemendikbudristek Revokes UKT Tariff Recommendation Letter At PTN And PTNBH

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) revoked the letter regarding the recommendation for the Single Lecture Money (UKT) and Institution Development Contribution (IPI) rates at 75 State Universities (PTN) and PTN Berbadan Hukum (PTNBH) for the 2024/2025 academic year.

This was stated in a letter Number 0511/E/PR.07.04/2024 dated 27 May 2024 from the Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology (Dirjen Diktiristek) of the Ministry of Education and Culture Abdul Haris which was received in Jakarta, Tuesday, to follow up on the direction of the Minister of Education and Technology Nadiem Makarim regarding the cancellation of the 2024/2025 academic year UKT increase at PTN and PTNBH.

"The Ministry of Education and Culture canceled and revoked letters regarding the recommendations for UKT and IPI rates for PTNBH, as well as the approval of UKT and IPI rates for PTN for the academic year 2024/2025," said Abdul Haris as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 28.

In the letter, he also instructed the rectors of PTN and PTNBH to re-submit UKT and IPI rates for the academic year 2024/2025 to the Director General of Diktiristek no later than June 5, 2024.

"The submission provisions are carried out without an increase in UKT and IPI compared to the academic year 2023/2024 and in accordance with the provisions of the maximum limit in the Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 2 of 2024 concerning Standards for the Unit of Higher Education Operational Costs at State Universities in the Ministry of Education and Culture," he said.

He also emphasized that after obtaining a recommendation letter or approval from the Director General of Higher Education and Technology for the re-submitting of UKT and IPI, the rectors of PTN and PTN-BH could revise the Chancellor's Decree regarding UKT and IPI rates for the 2024/2025 academic year.

"In addition, the rectors of PTN and PTNBH must also ensure that no new students for the 2024/2025 academic year pay higher UKT due to the revision of the Chancellor's Decree," he explained.

Then the rector of PTN and PTNBH must inform the UKT and IPI rates in accordance with the revision of the Chancellor's Decree to the new students who have been received, but have not re-registered or have resigned.

"PTN and PTNBH should also provide opportunities for new students who have been accepted to re-register," he said.

He also emphasized that if there is an overpayment of UKT due to the revision of the rector's decision, PTN and PTNBH must immediately return the overpayment or adjust the UKT payment calculation for the next semester.
