JAKARTA - The Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) officially closed the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) event in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Friday, May 24, 2024.
Basuki as the Daily Chair of the 10th World Water Forum Organizing National Committee said the world's water forum was running smoothly and there were no disturbances.
"The mandate of Indonesia to hold the 10th World Water Forum on 18-25 May 2024 in Bali, Indonesia, has been completed and successful," reads a statement quoted from the official Instagram account @kemenpupr, Monday, May 27.
Indonesia is considered to have successfully accommodated an international meeting involving a number of stakeholders in the water resources sector. Starting from the government, parliament, political leaders, multilateral institutions, politicians, academics, civil society to business actors.

Such as Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Fiji President Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Morocco Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, Tajikistan Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzoda and Former Hungarian President Janos Ader.
In fact, state guests from various representatives were also present, including 51 ministers, 57 high-ranking officials, 27 international organizations with a total of 135 ministerial-level officials, 200 MPs from 49 countries, 150 regional local deputy officials from 23 countries and 847 representatives from sub-regionals.
"Through the 10th World Water Forum in Bali, the Declaration of the Minister which contains 16 points of agreement with three points is Indonesia's priority agenda," he said.

The three main points are the establishment of a center of excellence for water and climate security, mainstreaming the issue of water management for developing countries on small islands and proposing World Lake Day.

Previously, President Jokowi emphasized that the World Water Forum must be a real action for the world to revitalize real action and a joint commitment by sharing knowledge that encourages innovative solutions and realizing integrated water resource management.
Jokowi emphasized that the water must be managed properly because each drop is very valuable.
"Without water there is no food, no peace, no life. No water, no life, no growth," he said.
