University Of Toronto Pro-Palestinian Students Ignore Campus Threats
CanADA - Pro-Palestinian protesters have vowed to ignore notifications of violations issued by the University of Toronto for them to pack up and leave campus on Monday, May 27, which is likely to cause chaos.
If the protesters still exist until the specified time limit, university officials say violators will face "concursions based on university and legal policies," according to a statement posted online by the campus.
Protesters opposed the notification of the breach.
"That is an ultimatum," said Camp organizer and fourth-year student Kalliope Anvar McCall at a press conference reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Saturday, May 25.
They tried to force us to accept these outrageous requirements by threatening to expel us at the same time.
Those who remain able to face a five-year suspension or are expelled from university. Dozens of faculty and staff members who have joined pro-Palestinian groups can face disciplinary actions to and including termination of employment, the campus said.
The university administration rejected a request by protesters to end partnerships with Israeli universities and cut ties with Israel and companies taking advantage of the attacks on Gaza.

However, the school offered students the opportunity to convey their demands at the university's board of governors meeting on June 19. In addition, the government said it would form a group to consider disclosure and investment requirements.
"We will continue to be here, and we will continue to demand divestment," said Erin Mackey, a spokesman for the demonstration camp, according to the National Post.
But despite the notification of the breach, the only media, the National Post, reported the camp organizers said the government agreed to meet on Sunday to resume negotiations.
The protest camp began on May 2 at Canada's largest university with nearly 62,000 students.
Campgrounds were also established in other major Canadian post-graduate schools, including Ottawa University, British Columbia University, andaturation University.
