Pengang Sita At SYL's House Is Closed, The KPK Reminds The Perpetrators Can Be Imprisoned
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reminded that those who hinder the investigation process can be sentenced to prison.
This was conveyed by the Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri after receiving information on confiscated signs installed in the house belonging to the former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo was closed by certain parties. The confiscation was carried out because the assets were allegedly related to the alleged money laundering crime (TPPU).
"The information we received was that certain parties were suspected of deliberately covering up the sign of the confiscation of the investigation team," Ali told reporters in a written statement, Wednesday, May 22.
Ali said the confiscated sign was installed in a house in the Jalan Line Dua area, South Sulawesi. "KPK reminds anyone not to take action to obstruct the investigation of this case," he said.
"Because there are legal rules accompanied by strict sanctions for those who do so," continued the spokesman with the prosecutor's background.
It is known that the anti-corruption commission has several assets in the money laundering case that ensnared Syahrul, including a house located at Jalan Line Two. The assets were allegedly purchased by the former Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery (Alsintan) of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta as a confidant of the NasDem Party politician.
The purchase of this house is said to have used the joint money of officials at the ministry that was once led by SYL. Furthermore, the closest person to Hatta occupied it until it was finally confiscated by the KPK.
