Sultan HB X Asks Kulon Progo To Carefully Choose Investors In Aeropolis YIA

YOGYAKARTA - Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X asked the Kulon Progo Regency Government to be careful in choosing investors for the Aeropolis area development project around Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA).

"The Kulon Progo Regency Government must be careful in choosing and closely sorting investors in the YIA Aeropolis project," said Sultan HB X at the Kepatihan Ward, Yogyakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 22.

Sultan reminded that the granting of investment permits in the Aeropolis YIA area must be in line with the development program that has been planned by the Kulon Progo Regency Government together with the DIY Regional Government.

Under the leadership of Srie Nurkyatsiwi, the new Acting Regent of Kulon Progo, Sultan advised that cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in the development of the Aeropolis region around YIA continue.

"Cooperation with JICA must continue, to integrate the airport area with the development of effective supporting infrastructure," said Sultan.

He believes the cooperation will provide real benefits for Kulon Progo Regency.

Kulon Progo Regency, said Sultan HB X, needs to optimize its regional role as an airport city through potential "smart agriculture", "smart tourism", and "circular economy".

The King of the Yogyakarta Palace asked MSMEs in the district to be given special support to increase product standards and affordability to meet international quality.

These small and medium enterprises also need to be encouraged to take advantage of facilities at YIA Airport to promote depleted products to international tourists.

"Of course, with the support of optimizing the 'SiBakoel Jogja' platform, for the penetration of the MSME market through information technology," said Sultan.
