Penggi Alias Perong Suspect DPO Case Vina Cirebon Arrested In Bandung

BANDUNG - Pegi Setiawan alias Perong, one of the suspects on the wanted list (DPO) in the murder case of Vina and Rizky (Eky) in Cirebon was arrested by the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the West Java Police in Bandung City, West Java.

The Director of the Ditreskrimum of the West Java Police, Kombes Pol. Surawan, explained that there are now only two people in the other DPO who are still being searched by the police.

"On behalf of Pegi Setiawan, he was arrested on Tuesday, May 21, in Bandung," said Surawan, Wednesday, May 22.

Surawan did not explain the process of arresting Pegi alias Perong. The police are still conducting further investigations on Pegi Setiawan.

Now, there are two other perpetrators who have been on the run for almost eight years, namely Andi and Dani. The case was busy again after being lifted to the big screen with the title Vina Before Seven Days.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police, Kombes Pol. Jules Abraham Abast said that his party was still hunting for other perpetrators in the murder of Vina and her male friend, Rizky or Eky in Cirebon.

"Yes (in fact) we are still looking for (the perpetrators)," said Jules.

The West Java Regional Police also appealed to the three suspects who are still at large to be on the wanted list (DPO) to surrender, as well as to warn anyone who tries to hide the three of them can also be prosecuted.

The murder and rape of Vina took place in August 2016. The Cirebon teenager was murdered with his girlfriend, Muhammad Rizky.

A total of 11 perpetrators were involved in the tragic incident. However, only eight suspects have been arrested and prosecuted until they are convicted. The other three suspects are still at large today.

This case resurfaced after the film titled Vina: Before 7 Days' received public attention because the case still leaves three suspects who have not been caught.
