Ghufron Admits That He Reported The KPK Council To The Criminal Investigation Department As A Form Of Self-defense
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nurul Ghufron confirmed that he reported the KPK Supervisory Board to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.
The report is referred to as an attempt to defend oneself from allegations of ethical violations because it helps transfer employees at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).
"Is it true that Mr. Ghufron has made a report on the alleged crime to the Criminal Investigation Unit? I told him on the third floor (the KPK Supervisory Board office, ed) that I would defend myself with a legal mechanism that would allow me to defend myself," Ghufron told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, May 20.
"Including that, I said at that time, I would file a state administrative lawsuit, to conduct a judicial review to the Supreme Court, including the possibility of convicting it," he continued.
Ghufron explained that this report was carried out since May 6 to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police. There are two articles that form the basis, namely Article 421 of the Criminal Code and Article 310 of the Criminal Code.
He detailed Article 421 of the Criminal Code means that state administrators are forcing them to do or not do something. Meanwhile, Article 421 of the Criminal Code means defamation.
"That's what we have reported," he said.
When asked about the details of the KPK Supervisory Board he reported, Ghufron did not want to mention it in detail. He only mentioned that there were a few people, "not just one."

Ghufron also felt the need to report to the police because the KPK Council was deemed to have attacked his good name and family. "And the people who are bound, have a relationship with me are also sick," he said.
As previously reported, the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, reported the KPK Supervisory Board to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police. This report is recorded with the number LP/B/138/V/2024/SPKT/Bareskrim Polri.
Meanwhile, regarding the ethics trial for alleged abuse of authority that ensnared him, the verdict should have been read out on Tuesday, May 21. However, the State Administrative Court (PTUN) in the interim decision ordered a postponement to the KPK Supervisory Board.
