Padang-Sicincin Toll Road Progress Reaches 61 Percent As Of May 2024
JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) continues to accelerate the completion of the National Strategic Project (PSN), one of which is the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) for the Padang-Sicincin toll road.
Hutama Karya's management, in this case Operations Director III Koentjoro together with Hutama Karya Infrastruktur President Director Aji Prasetyanti, have conducted a project review from Thursday to Friday or May 16-17, 2024.
During his visit, Koentjoro said that the progress of the construction of the 36.6 kilometer (km) Padang-Sicincin Toll Road had reached more than 60 percent until May 11, 2024.
"As of May 11, 2024, the progress of the construction of the 36.6 km Padang-Sicincin Toll Road project has reached more than 61 percent, with land acquisition progress that still remains at several points and several land parcels in Nagari Sungai Buluh Selatan," said Koentjoro in his official statement, quoted Monday, May 20.
Koentjoro said the two land acquisition points remaining were at KM 31 to KM 33. "Hutama Karya hopes that the land at the two points can be acquired as soon as possible, so that they can immediately connect the toll road as a whole," he said.
Koentjoro said, in addition to progressive physical development, land acquisition has also grown significantly, namely 95.97 percent. He considered that this achievement could not be separated from the support of the West Sumatra Provincial Government so far.
"Apart from this positive achievement, we still need support from the West Sumatra Provincial Government to determine the location of the access land as well as the West Sumatra Provincial BPN Regional Office and various parties for the complete acquisition of land so that the Padang-Sicincin Toll Operation can be fully realized immediately," he said.
According to him, the challenge of completing the construction of the first expressway in West Sumatra Province is land acquisition and hilly soil contours. Thus, it requires accuracy in construction.
However, due to the support of all elements involved in this release process, the progress of development in the field can be accelerated and can be immediately enjoyed by the local community.

"Seeing this progress, we are optimistic that if the land acquisition can be completed according to the target, the completion of the project can be completed on time," he added.
Later, the toll roads that are awaited by the people of West Sumatra will have a number of facilities, including 3 toll gates, 1 pair of Type A Rest & Service Places (TIP) at STA 23 + 000 A and a number of crossing buildings, such as 8 river bridges, 2 irrigation bridges and 14 underbridge bridges.
In addition, the Padang-Sicincin Toll Road will also be equipped with a number of 2x2 lanes with a plan speed of 80 km/hour. Thus, it will shorten the travel time from Padang to Bukittinggi to only 1 hour. Thus, it can increase regional tourism and develop surrounding areas.
