Jakarta And 6 Persisir Areas In The Country Potentially Experience Rob Floods This Week
JAKARTA - Residents who live or are active on the coast of Jakarta are advised to be aware of coastal flooding or tidal flooding which is predicted to occur throughout this week.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said that tidal flooding would occur in the coastal area of Jakarta in the period 20-31 May 2024. The tidal flood occurred due to the phenomenon of the full moon phase on May 23, 2024, which has the potential to increase the maximum tide height.
Head of the BMKG Maritime Meteorology Center, Eko Prasetyo, said that this condition would generally have an impact on the activities of residents around coastal and ports, including life in coastal settlements, loading and unloading activities at ports, as well as land fisheries activities and salt ponds.
