Police Arrest Five Teenagers For Brawl At Senen

JAKARTA - The Precision Pioneer Patrol Team (TP3) of the Central Jakarta Metro Police arrested five teenagers who wanted to do a brawl on Jalan Pasar Senen, Senen District, Central Jakarta, early Sunday, at around 04.00 WIB. "Yes, it is true, TP3 has arrested several people who want to fight in Senen," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro in a written statement in Jakarta, Sunday, May 19. The five teenagers who were arrested, namely RSAS (14), FS (16), RM (21), FA (19), IS (25). According to him, the arrest of the suspected brawler occurred while TP3 officers were conducting routine regional patrols. "When passing through Senen, officers saw a group of children who were suspected of wanting to do a brawl and at the time of disbandment, several people who were carrying sharp weapons were arrested," said Susatyo.

The Central Jakarta Metro Police will continue to patrol to maintain security and public order. In addition to arresting the alleged perpetrators of the brawl, the police also confiscated a number of sharp weapons, namely three long sickle blades with wooden handles, one duckcocor.

The police also confiscated two motorbikes of the perpetrators. The perpetrators and evidence were then handed over to the Senen Police for further legal proceedings. For his actions, the perpetrators can be charged with Article 2 paragraph 1 of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 with a maximum prison sentence of 10 years in prison.

Therefore, Susatyo appealed to parents to be more intense in supervising their children's activities when they are outside the home, so as not to violate the law and victims of crime. "Love the lives of our children. If you die during a brawl, it will be in vain," he said.
