Pep Guardiola Will Not Leave Manchester City

JAKARTA - Manager Pep Guardiola still wants to handle Manchester City. He made sure he would not leave Etihad even though his contract was only one year away.

Guardiola is entering its final year at Man City. But there is no sign of Guardiola leaving the Cityzens. He remains committed to completing his contract.

This also dismissed rumors that the 52-year-old manager had returned to Bayern Munich. Guardiola had three years of coaching Bayern.

From 2013 to 2016, he brought Bayern to win the German Bundesliga three times, DFB Pokal or German Cup twice and UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup.

Guardiola is said to be replacing Thomas Tuchel. However, he dismissed the rumors by stating that he would remain at the Etihad next season.

"That's right, I'm still under contract. I still want to stay here next season. Yes or yes," said Guardiola.

Guardiola enjoyed great success at Man City. He brought Man City to win the Champions League trophy for the first time last season.

This success is even more complete because Man City won treble and equaled the record for one city rivals, Manchester United.

Man City also have the opportunity to set a record for being the first team to win the English Premier League four times in a row.

Currently, only Man City and MU have won the Premier League three times in a row.

The chances of creating that record are very open even though Man City is overshadowed by Arsenal. Because in the final league match, Sunday, May 19, 2024 tonight, Man City host West Ham United.

On paper, it was not difficult for Man City to beat West Ham at the Etihad Stadium to ensure a league title.

Man City juga menjadi klub paling lama ditangani Guardiola. Sebelumnya, Guardiola hanya empat musim pelatih di Barcelona, klub yang pernah dibelanya saat masih sebagai pemain.

He then moved to Bayern and lasted briefly before receiving an offer from Man City.

Despite stating his commitment to Man City, Guardiola has not confirmed when his contract expires in 2024. The club has also not negotiated a contract extension with the manager.
